Bowflex BXT216 Treadmill Review – Benefits:
Extra-Large, Color Console with Calorie Burn Rate Meter
The Bowflex BXT216 treadmill has a larger console than the BXT116 model.
However the console style itself is similar with the Bowflex Calorie burn rate meter, all your workout stats showing and an intensity graph.
The Calorie burn rate meter shows you how many calories you’re burning every second of your workout. A lot of people really like this and find it pushes them to go further during their workouts.
There’s a large stability brace under the main console with extra shelving space for cups, keys, TV remote etc. This is usually only seen in commercial-grade models and helps to stabilize the console with less shaking.
Extra-Wide 22 Inch Belt
You get an extra wide 22 inch belt on the BXT216 – which gives you more room to stretch out. Runners will especially appreciate the extra space to move.
Media Shelf with Charging Station
You can enjoy watching your favorite YouTube videos or binge on Netflix shows on your tablet with the oversized Media shelf above the console. There’s also a USB charging station – so you’ll never have to worry about running out of battery power during your workout!
The deck cushioning uses 5 cell Comfort Tech Cushioning (vs 3 cell on the BXT116 model) giving you a bit more support for your joints, knees, hips and back.
The deck on this treadmill is very bulky and heavy, which is what you want if you’re going to be pounding on it constantly with longer running workouts.
Easy Folding with Soft-Drop Assistance
The BXT216 treadmill easily folds up and locks into place. There are wheels on the bottom so you can also move it out of the way.
And when you’re ready to unfold it, you just press the large red button and stand back. The treadmill unfolds itself with the soft-drop feature, saving you the stress on your back.
3 Ply Treadbelt
This is a feature you don’t usually find – even on $2000 treadmills. The extra-ply belt helps to extend the life of your treadmill and will hold up better under longer, more intense workouts.
Strong 4.0 HP Motor
A strong motor will push your treadmill through tougher, longer workouts and still keep going without breaking a sweat.
You get a 4.0 Continuous Duty motor on the BXT216 treadmill which is stronger than the BXT116 model. It’s also higher than industry standards at this price point.
You can alter your speed and incline easily from the console buttons. Plus you can also change them using the keys directly beside the heart rate hand grips.
This makes it easy to change your speed while still grasping the heart rate sensors to get an accurate heart rate reading.
You can easily sync your workouts with different training apps using the Bluetooth connectivity on this treadmill. Plus you can also connect with apps like Explore the World and run famous world trails for some virtual reality fun!
Bowflex BXT216 Treadmill Review – What You Should Know:
Hard To Reach Cupholders
This may seem like a small thing, but we found that the cupholders under the console are a bit hard to reach because of the location of the main console. You have to bend and reach a bit which can be challenging if you’re mid-run.
More For Runners Than Walkers
While walkers will appreciate the BXT216 as well as runners, the extra features on this model are really designed for heavy duty running and longer workouts.
If you’re just planning on occasional, single-person use of your treadmill, you might be fine with the Bowflex BXT116 model for a few hundred dollars less.
If you want the ultimate Bowflex treadmill with a tougher, stronger motor, extra room to run and extra cushioning protection for your joints, you’ll probably be very happy with the Bowflex BXT216.
It’s a bit more stable than the BXT116 model with a larger console and more built-in workouts programs. You also get upgraded cushioning and easy-change handrail controls.
On the fun side, you also have a media shelf for your tablet with built-in console speakers to enjoy your workout music as you walk.
And you can easily sync your daily workout results with the free Bowflex App to reach new fitness goals.
