Is the Bowflex C6 Bike A Good Buy for You?
The Bowflex C6 indoor bike is Bowflex’s first entrance into the ultra-hot exercise bike market.
As usual, Bowflex is stepping into the ring and going up directly against one of the most popular models in the field – the Peloton.
The C6 is their (much cheaper) answer to the Peloton.
It gives you a strong cycling bike base – with Bluetooth and a tablet holder.
So you can stream whatever bike apps you want – including the Peloton classes – through your tablet or phone directly.
is the Bowflex C6 bike a good choice for you?
Here’s a review of the pros and cons to help you decide.
Bowflex C6 Specs:
Resistance: 100 Micro-Resistance Levels

Bowflex C6 Bike Review – Benefits
A Much Cheaper Alternative to the Peloton
The Peloton bike came out and pretty much changed the game. People could now take streaming spin classes directly from their bike at home instead of going to the gym to do it.
This is much more convenient and can turn a basic bike into your own personal fitness studio.
The Peloton is super-expensive, coming in around $2245 + the cost of the monthly streaming subscription package.
The Bowflex C6 gives you a stable, adjustable indoor training bike – with the option to stream cycling apps by using your tablet attached above the console – for over $1300 LESS than the Peloton.
You can then choose to get the Peloton digital app if you want to stream Peloton classes.
You can also choose another streaming app like Ride the World or the Zwift app. So you have more control over which riding apps you want to try.
Tablet Holder Above The Console
With the tablet holder above the console, not only can you stream cycling apps. You can also go online and surf the net or watch Netflix or YouTube videos as you ride – adding some extra entertainment fun to your workouts.
While the console is simple, it is backlit and easy to read, giving you constant feedback on your workout stats like time, distance, heart rate etc.
100 Micro-Resistance Levels
You increase the resistance on this bike with the knob on the center frame. You get up to 100 micro-resistance levels, giving you lots of ways to challenge yourself.
The Bowflex C6 also comes with two 3-pound dumbbells included. So you can work some upper body exercises into your routine.
Heart Rate Arm Band
You also get a wireless heart rate arm band included with this bike. You can wear it and get a constant reading on your heart rate as you ride. So it’s easy to stay in your target fat-burning zone.
Bowflex C6 Bike Review – What You Should Know:
New On the Market
While this isn’t really a huge problem, the Bowflex C6 bike is new to the market. It doesn’t have a lot of user feedback or reviews yet.
Cycling App Drawbacks
While you will be saving money (vs the Peloton) by getting your own cycling apps, most of the good ones on the market do charge a monthly subscription fee. So you have to account for that as well.
If you’ve been wanting to try the Peloton – but can’t justify spending $2200+ on a bike (from a company that specializes in fitness classes – not in making fitness equipment), you may want to consider the Bowflex C6 indoor bike.
It has all the necessary features to give you a good workout. Plus, because it’s Bluetooth compatible with the tablet holder above the console, you can still get the streaming classes of Peloton – or explore the world with apps like Zwift.
While it’s not a commercial-grade bike, it is a much simpler, more elegant and cost effective alternative to the Peloton.
