Introducing the New Bowflex Max Trainer M6 And M8
These are replacing the older M5 and M7 models. They’re actually very close to the older M5 and M7 models in that Bowflex has kept the design and construction similar.
You still get the same high-calorie burning design that makes the Max Trainer so popular.
However there are a few new upgrades you’ll want to know about.
The main one?
These two trainers are compatible with Bowflex Max Intelligence!
What is Bowflex Max Intellligence?
This is a new, subscription-based feature you can choose to add on if you want more in-depth tracking and training options. (It’s completely optional – the Max Trainer will work fine without it if you don’t want to add it in).
You can do some really cool things with Bowflex Max Intelligence – including getting customized workouts sent directly to your machine.
Max Intelligence can run a fitness assessment for you and then give you customized workouts based on your assessment and your stated fitness goals.
Max Intelligence will coach you through your workout (audibly) and also adjust the trainer settings to give you maximum calorie burning throughout your workout.
You can also choose from a library of personal-trainer-led workout videos if you want extra challenge.
Bowflex is also adding world-scenery trails this year. So you can watch real life trails pass you by in your tablet or TV screen as you run for some virtual reality fun.
So all-in-all, its’ a pretty cool feature – more like Smart training than just your standard workout.
While I suspect Bowflex will be adding some kind of Max Intelligence to all of their machines eventually – including their ellipticals and treadmills – for right now Bowflex Max Intelligence is only on the new Max M6 and M8 models.
Another Difference? – The 4 Minute HIIT Workout!
While a lot of people loved the short, effective 14 minute HIIT workout included with past Bowflex Max Trainers, Bowflex has now added an even shorter HIIT training workout option to the M6 and M8 models – 4 minutes!
So even if you feel like you don’t have a lot of time to workout, you can still get the benefits of a longer workout with the 4 minute specially designed HIIT workout on these 2 machines.
Bowflex M6 Console Upgraded
Bowflex also added an upgraded console to the M6 vs the older M5 – with a better media rack. Here’s the older M5 console
And here’s the new M6 console:
As you can see the new M6 console is sleeker with a more up-to-date design. I find it less clunky-looking and more streamlined than the older M5 console.
You can also use the new media rack to store your tablet, phone or other small items, which is really handy
Slightly Larger Footprint
One last minor difference to know is that the footprint on the M6 has gone up slightly from the older M5 – it now measures a few inches wider – 49″ L x 30.5″ W. (The M8 model has the exact same footprint as well).
However, while the footprint is a bit wider, it’s still smaller and more compact than a standard elliptical trainer.
So that’s great news for those of you who want to get a Max Trainer with the latest upgrades (for the same prices as the older models). I think the Bowflex Max Intelligence will be ultra cool – and very popular in the near term.
