Bowflex M6 Max Trainer Review – Benefits:
Burn 2.5 Time More Calories
An independent study measured the Max elliptical against treadmills, stair steppers, and regular ellipticals.
Participants all exercised at the same rate and intensity. They discovered that users burned more calories using the Max trainer than every other fitness machine tested by up to 2.5 times per minute!
What’s really cool is that some people in early fitness testings have burned up to 600 calories in 30 minutes, which is amazing. If you want to see fast weight loss and toning, this is the way to do it.
Improved Backlit Console
The console on the M6 is backlit and much easier to read than the M3. It gives a bright reading of your workout stats like time, calories, intensity and more.
There’s also the famous calorie-burn-rate meter that shows you how many calories you’re burning at any one time.
Plus Bowflex has added an upper media shelf you can use for your tablet, keys, phone etc – which is a nice upgrade over the older M5 model.
Personalized Training with Bowflex Max Intelligence
Bowflex Max Intelligence is a brand new, optional, subscripton-based service you can add on to the M6 model. This gives you Smart training in that it can assess your fitness level and then customize workouts just for you based on your fitness level and stated goals.
You can also choose from a large library of personal-trainer-led video workouts if you want some extra challenge.
And Bowflex will also be adding world scenery workouts as well. So you can watch through your tablet or TV screen as you travel trails all over the world for a bit of virtual reality fun.
You don’t need Bowflex Max Intelligence to use the M6 trainer – it’s just an add on subscription for about $14.95 a month. It’s a great option for people who want that extra bit of entertainment on their Max Trainer.
Extra Resistance Levels
You get double the resistance levels on the M6 vs the M3 – 16 vs 8. This gives you a lot of extra room to grow. As your fitness level improves over time, you won’t top out too quickly at the highest level of resistance.
Also note that this is computer-controlled resistance meaning you can change it from the controls on the console. The M3 only has manual resistance controls and you can’t change it from the console buttons.
9 Built In Workouts
In addition to the famous high-intensity 14 minute workout that’s designed to get you maximum calorie-burning results, you also get a few more programs here like Max Interval, Smart Max Interval, Calorie Burn, Fat Burn, Calorie Goal, Stairs, Steady State, Fitness Test + manual mode.
This can add a bit more challenge to your workout and it’s great if you want something longer than the 14 minute workout.
The Bowflex M6 Trainer also comes with premium handgrips that give you 3 different hand positions to choose from. Compared to the M3 grips? These are a little more padded, soft and comfortable.
Brand New 4 Minute Workout
While a lot of people really liked the short 14 minute HIIT training workout on past models, Bowflex went even further with the new M6 model. You now get an even shorter 4 minute HIIT workout.
So even if you have very little time to workout during your day – you can still get maximum results in minimum time with this specialized HIIT workout program.
Bowflex M6 Max Review – What You Should Know:
While the M6 has 16 levels of resistance, the M8 trainer model has 20 – so if you want a few more resistance levels you may want to upgrade to the M8 model.
2 User Profiles
The Bowflex M6 trainer has 2 user profiles. This means it can store and track the information for up to 2 different users.
However if you have more than 2 users in the family, the user profile will basically cancel out the previous user when the 3rd user enters their information. So it’s a bit of a pain if you have more than 2 users (who want to track their information).
If you want more user profiles you may want to consider the M8 model which has 4 user profiles.
The Bowflex M6 Max Trainer really gives you the best of both worlds – affordable price and premium features that can help you burn more calories in less time.
You get a lot more features than the M3 including double the resistance levels and a backlit, easier-to-read console. You also get more workout programs and more comfortable, upgraded arm bars.
Unlike the M3, the Bowflex M6 will also work with Max Trainer Intelligence. So you can run trails all over the world or get personalized, dynamic coaching right in your home!
While the M6 model doesn’t have some of the premium features of the M8, it’s also about $600 less. So overall it’s really the best mix of affordability and workout features.
