These are both brand new Max Trainer models for this year with a very cool new addition – Max Intelligence.
Both trainers work with Max Intelligence to give you customized workouts, dynamic training and even personal-trainer-led workout videos (the M3 model does not work with Max Intelligence).
They also both give you the famous high-calorie burning design that helps you to burn up to 2.5 times more calories than a regular elliptical trainer or a treadmill.
So what about when you compare them against each other? How do they stack up?
The Max Trainer M6 and M8 look very similar to each other – so it can be hard to tell them apart. But there are some important differences you should know.
With that in mind, here’s a review of the Bowflex M6 vs M8 Max Trainer models to help you decide:
Bowflex M6 vs M8 – Price
The Bowflex M6 Max is the more affordable trainer of the two, making it more attractive from a budget standpoint. You can get if for about $1699 plus a special Coupon Code here.
The Bowflex M8 Max trainer is the next model up – and the premium model in the max trainer lineup.
It has a few more upgrades over the M6 and comes in around $2299 with a special Coupon Code here.
So what do you get with the M8 that you don’t get with the M6? Let’s take a look:
Bowflex M6 vs M8 Max – Console Differences
Both consoles are backlit and easy-to-read. However there are some differences.
The Bowflex M6 has a smaller single-console window as you can see here:
The Bowflex M8 has a larger, dual-LCD display window as you can see here:
So the Bowflex M8 will be a little easier to read with the two-window console. It also has a premium media shelf to hold your tablet – which can be very handy if you want to use the Bowflex Max Intelligence feature.
Bowflex M6 vs M8 – Resistance Levels
The Bowflex M6 comes with up to 16 levels of resistance – which is pretty good and will give you lots of challenge.
But the Bowflex M8 steps it up to 20 levels of resistance. So you have more room to grow with the M8 model as your fitness level improves over time.
Bowflex M6 vs M8 – User Profiles
The Bowflex M6 Max trainer comes with 2 user profiles. This means you can store and track the information for up to 2 different users (so you don’t have to re-enter it every time you begin a new workout).
The Bowflex M8 Max trainer comes with up to 4 different user profiles. So it’s great if you have more than 2 users in your home as you can store everybody’s information.
(If you have more than 2 users and only 2 user profiles, the computer will wipe out the information for the last user every time you enter information for the 3rd user, which can get annoying after a while.)
Upper Body Training Differences
The Bowflex Max M6 comes with upgraded, ergonomic handlebars (see pic above), which is great – and fine for most people.
The Max M8 however comes with curved, padded handlebars (see pic below) which give you a few more areas to place your arms. So it gives you a bit more in terms of upper body traning options.
Extra Options on the Bowflex M8
The Bowflex Max M8 also comes with the option to add a “Performance Pack” to the machine for an extra few hundred dollars.
This extra Performance pack gives you a Samsung Galaxy 9.6″ Tablet as well as a machine mat for under your Max Trainer and a wireless arm bar to monitor your heart rate.
So if you want to get a tablet to use with the Max Intelligence, but don’t already have one, it might be a great option for you.
The Bowflex M6 does not come with a Performance Pack option.
So those are the main differences between the Bowflex M6 vs M8 Max Trainers.
While they both come with a lot more resistance levels than the M3 model plus the Max Intelligence option, there are some unique differences.
The M8 gives you double the user profiles and more resistance levels as well as more built-in workouts (7 vs 5). You also get an upgraded console and arm bars.
However on the other hand, the M6 still gives you everything you need for a high-calorie-burning workout – and it’s more affordable, making it more budget-friendly.
So it really depends on what you want.
No matter which machine you choose, the great news is that you’ll be getting a fantastic full-body workout that can help you burn more calories in less time than other machines!
